In Moore OKLAHOMA- Around 3:00 p.m., yesterday May 20, a massive tornado classified as an EF-4 with winds up to 200mph tore apart the town of Moore Oklahoma. Over 41,000 residents were in the tornadoes path, injuring more than 145 people with 65 being children, 24 people have been killed with a death toll expected to rise. Among the missing are 24 third grade elementary school children that were left in Plaza Elementary school when this lethal tornado tore apart the town. 500 students attend the school, most students were evacuated, however 75 were left in the school with faculty, 51 of those children were found. With the 51 that were found, 7 had drown and were killed in the school. 24 remain missing.

Search and Rescue teams stretching from Texas to Oklahoma searched effortlessly in the 10 foot tall rubble of the school all night. So far no children had been found, with little hope remaining researchers are still trying to find survivors. Rescue dogs have come in to help the team look for these two dozen missing children.

Of some survivors 101 had been pulled from the rubble during the early morning hours. Researchers are going through homes trying to find anyone who did survive. Homes completely leveled, it is said that this is the biggest tornado in history.

With the 24 who had been killed, a Mother and her 7 month old baby had also been victims of this lethal tornado, attempting to hide in a freezer. A stableman had described horses flying through the air, “Just like the movie Twister”.

The town of Moore had nearly 15 minutes to prepare with hearing reports of Tornado warnings throughout the day. Unfortunately with this unpredictable lethal tornado, stretching nearly 2 miles long and demolishing an entire town for 45 minutes, an Elementary school took the biggest hit.

The town describes this tragedy as a war zone.
