If you’re a mom, you can be sure that you have gotten frustrated with your children out in public. Whether it was yelling at them, or just screaming out of pure frustration, it was still in public. It can be quite embarrassing when everyone is staring at you during your outlandish rage.
But is it really ‘so bad’? Meagan Francis, a blogger who blogs about the chaos of family, had posted a photo on Facebook that showed her carrying her screaming 3 year old son in a football hold away from a photo shoot at her brother’s wedding. At the time, nearly 10 years ago, she was the pregnant mom of two young boys.
He was a real handful back then, but he is now 13 and a more lovely young man you could not imagine, she wrote in the caption.
She had a lot sympathetic and supportive readers, some even wrote they were tearing up. Now Meagan, a mother of 5 explains how she has more experience under her belt. She told TODAY, who first reported the story, that she feels she handled the situation fine, but it was still one of those sweaty, flushed, embarrassing moments every mother can relate to.
While these hard-to-handle moments may feel all too common, parenting educator Amy McCready says parents need to forgive themselves, learn from the episodes and put them in the past.
It’s about forgiveness, you are going to have really bad days and that’s OK. You forgive yourself and move on. What can I learn from this experience? That helps us do better tomorrow. McCready says, who gave this Mom of 5, kudos!
